Web Server/Host Question?

I have a website hosted through godaddy.com The website works fine. I%26#039;m going to be out of town for a couple of weeks so i was wondering if i could load all of my necessary files (about 1 GB) onto the website, since i am allotted about 5GB space total. I can easily upload it to my website by accessing my site through ftp://sitename.com The only problem is, i would like to find out a way to password protect just the folder that i load onto this account, so that only i can access this part of the website and download files

Any ideas?

You can password protect any directory of a website using a .htaccess file.

Other Replys:That would depend on your hosting account. The standard way is with the .htaccess file.

This may or may not work with goDaddy, they seem to have configurations that incompatible with most %26#039;standard%26#039; ways to do thinigs.

This is why most professionals do not use them for hosting, just for cheap domain registration.
