As ive said i was looking to build my own web site and wondered what progrmme i would need and how do i go about hosting it on the major search engines any help most apprreciated

Get a book on XHTML and one on CSS out of a library. Read them.

The only programs you need are Windows Notepad (or equivalent) and an image editor that can save .gif and .jpg files.

Google will find your site on its own eventually, but go to http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/... if you want to speed it up a bit. I don%26#039;t know about other search engines.

Other Replys:Use Notepad and make sure your content is relevant for the search engines. You will never hit the top spots if you don%26#039;t have interesting content.

Only use valid and semantic XHTML and CSS, no flash and no JavaScript to jumble things up, don%26#039;t use tables to layout your site. Search engines will look through your code only, they are blind to layout, so make sure all layout is based on CSS.

Other Replys:you should build with a free host that don%26#039;t put any force ads on your site first. while building your site you can hang out at any web master forum and learn some knowledge over there. you need to learn a lot before getting a paid host. if you need my recommendation on a free host check out my site. they got a good forum too. they have a paid plan but they use their free plan to promote their services and products.
