I have a contract with YahooSmallBusiness, who 鈥渟upposedly鈥?host my websites, or do they?, or don鈥檛 they?. 鈥淒on鈥檛 think they do鈥? I pay Yahoo in US $ every month and they have a 3rd party who hosts my sites. Who are they? Its not Yahoo7, who are they? Who hosts my web sites? Now I鈥檝e never had a problem with Yahoo USA. Yahoo7, who I actually got to talk to on the phone. That in its self is a metrical, they told me, they don鈥檛 host my sites. Who does?. Ever since Yahoo Sitebuilder freezes my computer over 3month ago, my websites have changed by themselves. I haven鈥檛 been able to install sitebuilder again because it freezes my computer tried about 8 times and can鈥檛 get answers. I can鈥檛 update or work on my site. Did Yahoo also give the 3rd party the SiteBuilder software? Because its no freeking working?

I just bought two domains with hosting. I know how to make a cool %26quot;under construction%26quot; graphic. I know how to make the graphic but I don%26#039;t know nuttin about raiseing no HTML. how can I post a graphic until my web guru can get the sight ready?

2. Save your graphic in GIF, JPG or PNG formats into this folder

3. Open Notepad and type the following html command:

You can, for an MS box all you really need is a webserver and a Static IP address. A stripped version of IIS (MS%26#039;s Webserver does come with XP.. But you can only run one site at a time. But there%26#039;s TONS of Free webservers out there for Windows. Just Google %26#039; Windows Webserver%26#039;

As for the static IP address; If you are on dial-up forget it. you%26#039;re site will be so slow no one will come back. If you are on Broadband then talk to you carrier about static IP addresses and how much they are.

For a MAC box, I%26#039;m not 100% sure. I know you%26#039;ll still need a static IP address and a web server, Apache (which can work on windows also) I believe will work on the MAC.

I have purchased a domain name to make it simpler for the masses to find. A domain name does nothing but direct people to your actual website. It does however make it easier for the masses to find it. Domain names are cheap these days and can be purchased for as little as 3 bucks a year. Lastly, If money isnt to big of an object you may want to buy some website making software. Its cheap also. I have been using a program called ixla web easy for years and is simplt to use. Other Replys:Why not? you can host your files on your own computer by installing a web server such as Microsoft%26#039;s IIS (Internet Information Service) or Apache web servers. In this case you would have to give people your real IP address as the domain if you have one and people would not be able to browse your computer if you are behind routers and stuff.

I suggest you check the www.no-ip.com which would redirect a custom web address to your IP so if people visit that URL they will be redirected to your computer.
